Snowden is offering a new service (and it’s free!) to anyone who has attended a Snowden Professional Development training course or been mentored by one of our experts, and would like some advice or guidance now that they are putting the theory they have learned into practice.
This free consulting service takes place at our offices in West Perth and Brisbane between 3.30 to 4.30 pm each and every Friday.
This is a unique opportunity to discuss with our team of geostatisticians, resource geologists, metallurgists, risk management consultants, geotechnical engineers and mining engineers - any technical problems you may be having and the options for resolving them. After 4.30 pm you are welcome to stay on and enjoy snacks and a beverage with the team.

2010 Photography competition submissions celebrate the Mining Industry

Prasantha Biswas – ‘Local coal collector'
Just four winners have been selected from the hundreds of photos taken in 52 countries, and submitted into the Snowden photo competition this year. The photographs were of such a high quality that the judging panel, which included world renowned Australian landscape photographer, Richard Woldendorp, AMEC’s CEO, Simon Bennison, and Resolution’s Greg Boase, together with a team of Snowden specialists, had a difficult time in choosing just 65 photographs for the Snowden exhibition which will be displayed at conferences and events worldwide.
Category winners are:
Black and White Category: Mr Prasanta Biswas for his photograph “Stone Crusher Mine in India” taken at the Pakur Stone Crusher Mine in India Landscape/ General Category: Mr Greg Tossel for his photograph “Kalgoorlie’s Underbelly” taken at the Kalgoorlie Super Pit in Australia Equipment and Machinery Category: Mr Joshua Ratadhi for his photograph “This is Mining” taken at PT KPC, Indonesia. People and Culture Category: Mr Prasanta Biswas for his photograph “Local coal collector” taken at the Jharia Coalfield in India Online Voting for the people’s choice submission opens on August 1st so have a look at the entries and see if you can choose your favourite from all of the fabulous photographs received this year.
